Dr Ewan MacDermid is a laparoscopic and robotic colorectal surgeon in Sydney with consulting rooms in Penrith and Windsor. Dr MacDermid performs surgical procedures at Nepean Public Hospital, Nepean Private Hospital, Somerset Private Hospital, Westmead Private Hospital and Hawkesbury Hospital.
He has special interests in bowel cancer, colonoscopy, haemorrhoids, anal fistulae and anal prolapse.
He also performs general surgical operations including hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, and believes strongly in “whole of patient” care.
As well as expert clinical skills, Dr MacDermid is an award-winning researcher and in 2018 was awarded the Dr Mark Killingback Prize for Colorectal Surgery.
With a special interest in screening for patients with disabilities and affordable surgeries for privately insured pensioners, he provides compassionate, timely and affordable care when patients need it most.
